What is an Original Credit Transaction (OCT)?

An OCT is a type of transaction where funds are sent directly to your debit card. OCT payments can typically be received by most debit cards on the Visa and Mastercard networks. Some issuers do not support OCT. Please check with your card provider to ensure your card is eligible.

How quickly will I receive funds through an OCT?

Funds sent via OCT are usually available almost instantly, but in some cases, it may take up to three days. Slower transfers are a result of either the card network or the card issuer, and are outside Sling Money’s control.

Are there any fees for withdrawing money through an OCT?

Sling Money may charge a fee for withdrawing money with an OCT. If a fee is applied it will be clearly displayed in the Sling Money app’s confirmation page prior to you making the withdrawal.

Is receiving an OCT payment secure?

OCT payments are secure. They are processed through the Visa and Mastercard networks in essentially the same way as a debit card purchase are processed, with the same set of protections.
