What happens if I send money to the wrong address or person?

We strongly recommend double-checking addresses and amounts before initiating any transactions on Sling Money.

Updated over a week ago

Imagine you meant to send 50 EUR to your friend Alex's Sling Wallet to split dinner, but accidentally sent it to an incorrect address or contact in your list.

All Sling Wallets are entirely self-custodial. This means you have complete control over the funds in your Sling Wallets. Therefore,

  • Transactions cannot be undone or reversed, even by Sling Money.

  • To try and resolve the issue, you would need to contact the person who received the funds and politely ask them to return it.

If you are finding this challenging, you can contact us through in-app chat, and we'll try to help you. However, please remember that we are physically unable to return funds from a completed transaction due to the nature of the modern cryptography Sling Money uses.

Please read about when a refund is possible for more information about why this is.
