How to transfer

  • What can I use to add and withdraw funds?

    • Debit card or mobile money wallet

      You can add money using a debit card or a mobile money wallet.

      To withdraw money, you can use a mobile money wallet provider.

      Check the available currencies on this page.

    • Stablecoin exchange

      Sling Money supports the Solana Blockchain and the USDP and USDC stablecoins.

  • How can I do it?

    • Debit card

      To add a debit card, you need to add your card number, CCV code, expiration date, and billing address.

    • Mobile money wallet

      To add your mobile money wallet, you need to provide your phone number.

    • Stablecoin exchanges

      You need to add your Sling Money wallet address into your Solana-based stablecoin wallet or exchange.

  • I want to send money to my friend who’s not on Sling Money, how can I do it?

A Sling Link is a way to send cash to someone who isn't on Sling Money yet. You can create a Sling Link for the value that you want to pay and then message it to the recipient via iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, etc. They can then claim the funds directly to their bank account, mobile money wallet, or Sling Wallet.

There is no limit to the amount you can send and receive to other Sling Money users.

  • How long does it take for the transactions to be completed?

Debit card - Usually instant

Mobile money wallet - Usually instant

Stablecoin exchange - It can take 10 to 15 minutes for the transfer to settle

  • Stablecoin exchange timeframes

The timeframe can vary due to several factors:

  • Technology and infrastructure involved in the transaction

  • Blockchain network traffic

  • Whether or not the exchange is performing a cross-chain transfer

  • Security protocols

Your Sling Wallet is powered by the Solana blockchain. Every transaction is recorded on the Solana blockchain and you can check it on Solscan. It provides information like the contents of an individual block, transaction history, and balance of wallet addresses on Solana blockchain.

  • Which cards can I link to my account?

You can use physical or virtual debit cards (Visa or Mastercard).

  • How do I know if my card is debit or credit?

Debit cards usually have the description "debit" on the front. If there is no description, the card may be a credit card or have both functions. Check your banking app to see if there is a limit, as credit cards have a limit to how much you can charge. If you are not sure, contact your bank's customer support and ask.

  • Which mobile money providers can I link my account to?

Airtel and MTN.

  • Why is my mobile money wallet not supported?

When adding your mobile money wallet, make sure to add your personal phone number. We do not support mobile money wallets if the phone number is associated with a business or a non-governmental organisation.


Chargeback and Refunds

  • If you are a Sling Money user and funds were taken out of your account without your consent

At Sling Money, we take fraud prevention seriously, and we understand how concerning these situations can be. Rest assured, we're committed to helping you resolve any issues and will do everything we can to assist you. Contact us via our support platforms and we'll work with you to address your concerns as quickly as possible.

  • If you are not a Sling Money user and see unauthorised transactions with Sling Money

The fastest way to resolve this is to contact your bank and inform them that you do not recognise the transactions made with Sling Money. They will then contact us directly.

  • How long does it take for a dispute to be solved?

A transaction dispute occurs when a customer contests a charge or transaction made to their account, usually with a bank, credit card issuer, or payment service provider.

Bank Card Chargebacks (Visa, Mastercard) - Typically 45 to 90 days

Mobile Money Chargebacks (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) - Typically 7 to 30 days

  • What promotions are available in Uganda?

If you create a Sling Money account, we currently provide a welcome gift of UGX 4,000. More information here.

  • Are invite codes available in Uganda?

When your account is activated, you will have access to an invitation code that can be used to invite your friends to join Sling Money. See how to use them.

  • Is Sling Money going to be hosting an event in Uganda?

We do not have any events scheduled now, but we hope to come to Uganda in the future.

  • What payment methods do you not support in Uganda?

We only support MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money. Other mobile money providers such as Uganda Post and AfriCell are not yet available.

Local payment methods (PayWay and Flutterwave) are not compatible with Sling Money.

We do not support cash deposits or credit cards.

  • Can I use Sling Money for business or to purchase goods and services?

Sling Money is currently not a business service, so it does not support issuing invoices, savings, lending, taxes, etc.

If a merchant agrees, you can purchase your goods by paying them via Sling Money or a Sling Link.
