How do I verify micro-deposits?

Learn how to link your payment methods to Sling Money by verifying micro-deposits.

Updated this week

What is a micro-deposit?

A micro-deposit is a small test payment, usually less than $1, sent from your linked payment method to your Sling Money account.

Micro-deposit verification is only supported for ACH transfers. Wires and other transfer methods are not currently supported.

Some banks require micro-deposit verification before you can link them to services like Sling Money. By confirming the exact amounts of the deposits, you prove that you own the connected account, allowing you to use it for deposits and withdrawals.

How micro-deposit verification works

  1. When you link an external bank account to Sling Money, your bank may send one or more small deposits (under $1) to your Sling Balance.

  2. This process usually takes 1–2 business days.

  3. Once the deposits appear in your Sling Money transaction feed, log in to your bank’s app or website.

  4. Enter the exact amount of each deposit (for example, $0.56 and $0.84).

  5. Once confirmed, your bank account will be successfully linked to Sling Money.

Your bank will then withdraw the small deposits from your Sling Balance after verification.

What is challenge deposit verification?

Challenge deposit verification is a faster, real-time version of micro-deposit verification.

Your banking app sends a small “challenge” deposit and asks you to confirm the deposit or its amount immediately.

This also confirms that you own the linked account, enabling you to transact securely in Sling Money.
