What is a Sling Link?

Sling Links allow you to send money to people who aren't on Sling Money yet. Find out more here.

Updated over a week ago

You can only send instant digital money between Sling Money users.

A Sling Link is a way to send money to someone who isn't on Sling Money yet. Recipients can withdraw the value of the Sling Link to their bank account or mobile money wallet in any of our supported countries.

You can also invite them to Sling Money by tapping on their name and selecting from the available messaging platforms (e.g. Messenger, WhatsApp).

Note: In the United States, money from Sling Links can only be claimed to a verified Sling Money account. The recipient may then withdraw money to their bank account or debit account.

How do Sling Links work?

Sling Links require action from the recipient. Anyone who receives a Sling Link can accept the money contained within it. You and the person you send the Sling Link to should be careful about sharing the link.

Under the hood, Sling Links are self-custodial Solana wallets that use digital dollars as their currency.

The private key for the Sling Link is in the URL, which is why anyone with the Sling Link can access the money contained within it.

We carefully monitor Sling Links for suspicious behavior and may suspend a user's ability to create Sling Links if we detect abuse.
