What is a Sling Link?

Learn what a Sling Link is and how to send or claim one

Updated this week

A Sling Link lets you send money to anyone across 70+ countries, even if they do not have a Sling Money account. You can share the link via any messaging app, email, or QR code. The person who receives it can claim the funds to their bank account or mobile money wallet.

A Sling Link works like a self-custodial wallet that holds digital dollars or euros. It contains a private key in the URL, which gives the holder access to the funds. This means anyone who has the link can claim the money, so make sure you only share it with the person you want to pay.

Sling Money monitors all Sling Link activity for suspicious behavior to help keep your funds safe.

How to send money via Sling Link

  1. Tap 'Send' on the home screen

  2. Tap 'Send to anyone using a link' or select a contact from the 'Invite to Sling' section at the bottom

  3. Choose the amount and currency you want to send

  4. (Optional) Add a note or photo to your transfer

  5. Review the transfer details and tap 'Send'

A Sling Link will be created and you can share it with the person you want to pay. If the link is not claimed, you can cancel it and the funds will be returned to your Sling Balance.

How to claim a Sling Link

  1. Open the Sling Link in your browser

  2. Select your country

  3. Enter your name

  4. Enter your bank account details or mobile money number

You will receive an email where you can check the status of your transfer.

🚨 Important

If you are in the United States, you must claim your Sling Link through a verified Sling Money account. You will not be able to withdraw directly to a bank account without a Sling Account.

Remember that a Sling Link is like cash — anyone who has the link can claim the funds. Do not share your Sling Link publicly or with anyone you do not trust.
