Send money to people who aren’t on Sling Money yet

A Sling Link allows you to send money to someone who doesn’t yet have a Sling Money account.

If a person on your contact list isn’t on Sling Money, you can still send them money via Sling Link or invite them by selecting their name and choosing one of the available messaging platforms.

Recipients can withdraw the value of a Sling Link to their bank account or mobile money wallet in any of Sling Money’s supported countries.

In the United States, Sling Links can only be claimed to a verified Sling Money account. Once the funds are received, users can withdraw them to their bank account or debit card.

How Sling Links work

Sling Links are bearer instruments, which means anyone with the link can claim the money from it. Because of this, you and your recipient should take care not to share the link with anyone else.

Technically, a Sling Link functions as a self-custodial wallet containing digital dollars or digital euros.

The private key for that wallet is included in the URL, which is why anyone who has access to the link can access the funds.

Sling Money continuously monitors Sling Links for any suspicious activity and may suspend the ability to create new Sling Links if abuse is detected.
