Why do you require SSN to send money to a bank account?

Learn why Sling Money asks for your Social Security Number (SSN) when withdrawing to a U.S. bank account

Why an SSN is required

USD withdrawals in Sling Money are available in two ways:

A Social Security Number is a unique identification number issued by the U.S. government to identify residents for legal and financial purposes.

To comply with U.S. banking regulations, Sling Money and its partners are required to collect and verify SSNs for users who wish to withdraw to a bank account.
This helps ensure that all transfers meet legal and security standards.

If you don’t have an SSN

If you don’t have an SSN, or prefer not to share it, you can still withdraw directly to your debit card. The app will show you this option automatically when you select your payment method.
