All exchange rates are set in real-time at the point of transfer. Exchange rates can fluctuate from moment to moment. We use the real market rate as provided by currencyapi.com and do not apply a markup or spread.
All transfers with Sling Money are transferred in digital currency.
Making a transfer
We show you the price of the fiat currency you will exchange for digital currency (digital dollars) before you fully initiate your transfer.
As exchange rates fluctuate, the price we provide will only be valid for a limited time.
If the rate we have provided expires, you will not be able to complete your transfer at that price and we will ask you to try again, while showing you the updated rate.
You can see fiat currency and digital currency prices in the app's transfer history.
Example
You want to exchange a fiat currency to digital dollars using the exchange rate between those two currencies.
The digital dollar is pegged against the US dollar.
Therefore, an exchange rate of 1 US dollar to 2 euros (EUR) means that with Sling Money, you will exchange 1 digital dollar for 2 EUR, and 2 EUR for 1 digital dollar.
Claiming money from a Sling Link
We intend to honour the face value of a Sling Link, when the following criteria are met:
The currency is in USD or EUR
The Sling Link is claimed in the same currency in which it was created
Any fluctuations in the exchange rates will be covered by Sling Money, subject to fair usage limits. At Sling Money, we monitor Sling Link activity and reserve the right to make changes to this term for individual Sling Links, or for all Sling Links, at our sole discretion, as deemed appropriate.
